Dear friends & relatives
Just a quick note to say 'Thank You' for all your phone calls received on my birthday, plus emails and birthday cards.
Very special thanks to all members of our Zanzibar "A" team. It was wonderful receiving your phone calls on my birthday and as it was Merwyn's birthday on the same date, Betty & I were able to sing Happy Birthday to Merwyn as we spoke. (Two years ago Merwyn & I celebrated our birthdays together in Goa, organised by Pervin and family where all of Merwyn's family members attended from all over globe).
Betty and my two daughters were planning to organise a big birthday bash which I stopped and said, will celebrate when I am 75 as I had big parties when I was 25 and 50 so will wait for 75 followed by 100 if I am lucky!! (Wishful thinking but may be possible as I only feel I am 25)!
As there was no way I could stop my immediate family coming over to wish me happy birthday, Betty organised a small party with a few friends and relatives which was fun. Our 7 grandchildren and our eight, SIMBA who were all able to be present on the night was the icing on the cake. They all sang 'Happy Birthday to Grandad'.
Patsy, member of our Zanzibar "A" exclusive team made it to the party though she was not 100% well after a bout of the flu.
Thanks to all friends and relatives who came over to celebrate my big 70 and for all your wonderful birthday gifts.
